Title defense at the Hunép Zrt. charity football tournament

Our company hosted the Construction Industry Charity Football Cup in Nagyerdő for the second time with a noble cause. As per tradition, the proceeds from the registrations were donated to the Children’s Clinic Foundation “For Our Children.” Just like last year, the tournament ended with a victory for a construction industry partner, MAPEI.

The success of last year’s charity football cup, initiated by HUNÉP Zrt., and the positive feedback from participants reinforced the management’s belief that there is a need for relaxed gatherings with partners who collaborate to overcome everyday challenges.

This year, the tournament featured two sports: small-field football and, for the first time, foosball. Partners and their employees, eager to engage in sports and charity, participated in both events.

 On Saturday, 10 small-field football teams and 9 foosball teams competed for the medals at the Oláh Gábor Street Sports Complex. In addition to contributing to charity, participants also promoted their own health by spending the day in physical activity.

The defending champion, MAPEI, took home the gold medal in the small-field tournament, defeating the team from the City of Debrecen, which included former national footballer Tibor Tisza, 2-0 in the final. The bronze medal went to TOPSTEEL, who won 2-1 against OTIS in the bronze match.

Additionally, special awards were presented this year. The best player of the tournament was János Végh (TOPSTEEL), the top scorer with 6 goals was Norbert Zsíros (MAPEI), and the best goalkeeper was József Balogh (OTIS). The award for the “most prepared fan team” was given to the organized and sportsmanlike supporters of OTIS.

The foosball competition also featured exciting matches. Cemix I. won the gold, Beks Stage took silver, and Cemix II. celebrated the bronze.

The foundation supported by HUNÉP is a direct benefactor of the Pediatric Clinic of the Clinical Center at the University of Debrecen. By donating a portion of the tournament’s proceeds, we aim to contribute to the recovery of sick children in the Eastern Hungary region, ensuring that they can heal in more modern and comfortable conditions.
