Vehicle laboratory and test track to be built at the university of Debrecen
- 2024-07-17
Our company was announced as the winning bidder in the open EU public procurement process for the establishment of the Vehicle Laboratory at the University of Debrecen on April 17, 2023.
The new facility will further expand the science park of the higher education institution. In connection with the educational and innovation developments of the Debrecen automotive center, we will build a vehicle laboratory and a mini test track in the university’s science, technology, and innovation park.
The building will cover 2700 square meters and will serve theoretical education.
The institution will house vehicle laboratories, laboratories for mechatronics and robotics training, vehicle repair workshops, and classrooms suitable for smaller courses. The complex will also feature a test track and tanks for fuel storage.
The new multifunctional teaching, research, and development laboratory will play a central role in the training developments related to the region’s automotive investments.
The building’s mass is essentially asymmetrical with a Greek cross arrangement, where each wing encompasses a different function group. The building is single-story, with an upper floor extending over only part of the ground floor area. Its main structural frame is a prefabricated reinforced concrete skeleton, and the wings are connected by a steel-framed canopy at the ground floor ceiling level.
The University of Debrecen Industrial Park is currently the only university industrial park in the country, where practical aspects of education can be demonstrated alongside research and development, consulting, and service activities, providing an opportunity to establish a significant international innovation technology platform.
The investment in the Vezér Road industrial park, supported by 4.41 billion HUF in government funding, is expected to be completed by 2024.
